Why Listing Compliance Matters

Common Violations
- Title length overruns — Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Google all enforce hard character limits. Titles that exceed them are truncated or rejected outright.
- Banned promotional phrases — Words like “best seller”, “#1”, “free shipping”, and “discount” violate Amazon title policy and trigger Google Shopping disapprovals.
- ALL CAPS words — Shouting in titles is flagged by Amazon, Walmart, Etsy, and Google as a policy violation (accepted acronyms like USB, LED are whitelisted).
- eBay keyword stuffing — Repeating the same keyword more than twice in an eBay title is treated as spam and can result in listing suppression.
- HTML in Amazon titles and bullets — Any HTML tags in fields that do not support them are surfaced as raw text to customers, harming conversion.
